This book intends to provide lucid topicwise commentary on The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in the light of enormous case law that has developed during the last decade of its enactment. It contains a comprehensive synopsis of the entire Act in addition to reference section containing complete text of the Act and Rules, both Central and States which will be extremely useful to those who want to gain understanding of essential characteristics of the law within limited time at their disposal.

Further, a detailed check list giving the requirements for filing a complaint, Appeal and Revision Petition will be helpful to legal practitioners and others. An attempt has been made to deal with important cases relating to insurance claims, House Construction, Medical Negligence and cases against Telephone Department, Carriers and Couriers etc. It is hoped analysis and commentary on various aspects of the law will lead to further development of the law and the book will serve at least in a small measure the original intention of creating consume awareness in establishing a just and equitable society.
